A balloon whisk has a more bulbous shape than a regular whisk so that, while whipping egg whites or cream, more air is incorporated into the mixture faster. Ours is made by Combrichon in France of sturdy stainless steel wires that will not bend out of shape, even under pressure. The ergonomic handle is both attractive and comfortable. Safe to put in the dishwasher.
