Yes, you really get three possible uses from this one little 8 quart stockpot. It is constructed of 18/10 stainless steel with a tempered glass lid with a riveted handle. Handles on pot and insert are riveted as well. The bottom has an encapsulated tri ply base which will offset the poor heat conduction of plain stainless steel. The second insert has folding wire handles. So you can steam, do small portions of pasta, blanch veggies, make soups and stews. Altogether highly satisfactory.
