July 11, 2009 - A TASTE OF SUMMER
Isabella Devetta has been growing antique Gallica roses organically for twelve years in the Chianti Hills of Tuscany. She harvests in May,picking the petals in the morning when their perfume is strongest. Using a traditional method of preserving the essence of rose petals in sugar syrup,Ms.Devetta has created a product of exceptional flavor, aroma and purity. She produces a syrup with a deep rose color and a delightful, lingering taste of pure roses. There are many uses for this lovely treat, but we will be offering a tasting in only two of them. You can try it today as a refreshing spritzer with soda water, or over fresh strawberries. (It’s wonderful over any fruit, but ’tis the season for perfect local strawberries!)

Tasting will be held from 11:00AM until 5:00PM. You will receive a 15% discount on all tasting related items.

July 18, 2009 - A REFRESHING SUMMER BEVERAGE
Teisseire in France is the manufacturer of these wonderful fruit syrups. The company goes back to 1720 when it was a distillery of fruit and plant extracts. Our hands down choice from one of the Food Shows because they have an incredible depth of flavor, not just sugar. Teisseire has some of the hightest percentages of natural fruit juices and flavorings in its syrup formulations. There are no artificial anythings in their syrups. Enjoy these with sparkling water, sparkling wines or use as topping for sorbets, ice creams or even pancakes and waffles. It’s wise to keep a few flavors on your pantry shelf.

Today we will be offering drinks mixed with three refreshing syrup flavors, orange, raspberry, and mint. Tasting will be held from 11:00AM until 5:00PM, and there will be a 15% discount on all tasting related items.
July 25, 2009 - THE GREAT CAPER
It’s picnic time again, so we thought we’d put together today’s tasting to help round out your basket’s selections. With this in mind we have chosen our favorites for this tasting.

The Italian Riviera, specifically Liguria, is known for its ancient, much-prized olive production. Particularly famous is the taggiasca, with its smooth, almost buttery flavor. La Bella Angiolina pitted Ligurian olives in Extra Virgin Olive Oil are full of a delicious soft flavor and can be used in many tasty ways, but are a quick and delightful addition to any picnic.

Our second choice, the Sahli olive, is a variant of the Nicoise olive. These are not pitted, but they have a lovely addictive flavor, partially due to the secret brine the Mahjoub family uses in curing this olive. There is very little salt and it reflects in the taste of this olive. Another great choice for a picnic.

Finally, as an addition to your salads and prepared picnic foods, these dried capers are by far the best we have found. Most capers taste of the brine solution in which they’re soaked. But these delicious, high quality capers from Moulins Mahjoub in Tunisia are picked in the mountains and dried in sea salt, resulting in a lovely flavor. We will have them reconstituted for you to taste for yourselves. We hope you will plan to stop by.

Tasting to be held from 11:00AM until 5:00PM. There will be a 15% discount on all tasting related items.
